Experiment No.1:
Aim: Straight configuration for LAN.
Equipments Required: One twisted pair cable, crimping tool, two RJ-45 connectors, different wires of different colours.
Procedure: In straight configuration for LAN, the connections between RJ-45 are made as follows:
• Pin 1 will be connected to Pin 1.
• Pin 2 will be connected to Pin 2.
• Pin 3 will be connected to Pin 3.
• Pin 4 will be connected to Pin 4.
• Pin 5 will be connected to Pin 5.
• Pin 6 will be connected to Pin 6.
• Pin 7 will be connected to Pin 7.
• Pin 8 will be connected to Pin 8.
Use: Straight configuration of LAN is used to connect PC to HUB.
